GoldSignalCopier v1.10 – Install Guide (MT5)
This robot (Expert Advisor, "EA") copies trading signals from our Telegram bot into your MetaTrader 5 account: gold & silver, forex pairs (EURUSD, GBPJPY …) and crypto (BTCUSD, ETHUSD, SOLUSD …). Indices, oil and stocks are not copied.
You need:
- MetaTrader 5 on a Windows PC or a VPS (the PC must stay on for the robot to work).
-
Your API key (starts with
gc_). Get it from the Telegram bot @SignalCopier_ProBot with/newkey MyAccount. - The file GoldSignalCopier.ex5.
Step 1 – Copy the file
- Open MetaTrader 5.
- Click File → Open Data Folder. A folder opens.
- Open the folder MQL5, then the folder Experts.
- Copy GoldSignalCopier.ex5 into this Experts folder.
- Go back to MetaTrader 5. In the Navigator window (Ctrl+N), right-click Expert Advisors and click Refresh. You will now see GoldSignalCopier in the list.
Step 2 – Allow the server address (very important)
- Click Tools → Options.
- Open the tab Expert Advisors.
- Tick Allow algorithmic trading.
- Tick Allow WebRequest for listed URL.
-
Double-click add new URL and type exactly:
http://46.101.230.128 - Click OK.
If you skip this step the robot shows "URL NOT ALLOWED (error 4014)" on the chart.
Step 3 – Turn on Algo Trading
Click the Algo Trading button on the top toolbar. It must be green (not red).
Step 4 – Attach the robot to a chart
- Open any chart (for example XAUUSD, M1). The chart symbol does not matter – the robot trades every signal on the matching symbol of your broker (it finds names like XAUUSDm, BTCUSD.r, EURUSD# itself).
- Drag GoldSignalCopier from the Navigator onto the chart.
- In the window that opens, on the Common tab, tick Allow Algo Trading.
- Open the Inputs tab.
Step 5 – Enter your API key
- Double-click the value next to API key (gc_...) and paste your key.
-
Leave Server URL as
http://46.101.230.128. - Click OK.
A small status text appears at the top-left of the chart. Check that it says:
- status: CONNECTED
-
Assets: what the robot copies (for example
metals forex crypto) - Last signal: the symbol of the last signal and what happened to it
- Trading: ALLOWED
A smiling hat icon at the top-right of the chart means the robot is running.
Only use one chart with the robot for each account.
Recommended settings for a first DEMO test
Always test on a demo account first.
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Lot sizing mode | Fixed lot |
| Fixed lot | 0.01 |
| Max total lot per signal | 0.10 |
| Multi-TP handling | Split: one position per TP |
| Max positions per signal | 3 |
| Move SL to breakeven when TP1 is reached | true |
| Skip open signals older than (sec) | 90 |
| Max open positions + pendings | 10 |
| Stop new trades after daily loss % | 5 |
All other inputs can stay at their default values.
When you are happy with the demo results you can switch to Risk % of balance (for example 1%) on a real account.
Example: test BTCUSD on a weekend (Exness demo, 1000 USD)
Crypto trades on Saturday and Sunday at Exness; gold and forex markets are closed then.
| Input | Value |
|---|---|
| Copy metals / Copy forex | false / false (or leave true – they simply cannot trade at the weekend) |
| Copy crypto | true |
| Only these symbols | BTCUSD (optional, to test bitcoin only) |
| Symbol map | blank (auto). Pro/Raw/Zero accounts use BTCUSD, Standard accounts BTCUSDm – both are found |
| Lot sizing mode | Risk % of balance |
| Risk % of balance per signal | 0.5 (= about 5 USD loss if the SL is hit) |
| Max total lot per signal | 0.05 |
| Risk mode: skip if min lot risks > 1.5x target | true |
| Crypto: skip if spread above (%) | 0.20 |
On Exness 1 lot BTCUSD = 1 bitcoin, so 0.01 lot moves about 0.01 USD per 1 USD of bitcoin price. With a 1000 USD SL distance, 0.01 lot loses about 10 USD. If the signal's SL is so wide that even the minimum lot (0.01) risks more than 1.5x your risk amount, the robot skips the signal instead of over-risking (see "Last signal" on the panel).
What is a "pip" for each market?
| Market | 1 pip = | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Gold (XAUUSD) | 0.10 | 4000.00 -> 4000.10 |
| Silver (XAGUSD) | 0.01 | 48.50 -> 48.51 |
| Forex | 0.0001 | EURUSD 1.17200 -> 1.17210 |
| JPY pairs | 0.01 | USDJPY 147.50 -> 147.51 |
| Bitcoin, Ethereum | 1.00 (one dollar) | BTCUSD 84500 -> 84501 |
| Other coins | set by the server (for example SOL 0.01, XRP 0.0001) |
Signals like "SL 30 pips" or "TP1 50 pips" use this table. Crypto distances in the robot settings are in % of price instead of pips, because coin prices go from 0.10 to 100000.
All inputs (new in v1.10 marked )
Assets & symbols
- Copy metals / Copy forex / Copy crypto (true) – which markets to copy.
-
Only these symbols (blank) – for example
XAUUSD,BTCUSD. You can also write a market:crypto. -
Never these symbols (blank) – for example
GBPJPY,DOGEUSD. -
Symbol map (blank = automatic) – only if a symbol is not found:
XAUUSD=GOLD;BTCUSD=BTCUSDm. - Broker gold symbol (blank) – the old v1.00 input, still works for gold.
Lot size
- Lot sizing mode: Fixed lot / Risk % of balance / Risk money. Risk modes use your broker's own contract data for every symbol, so 1% is 1% on gold, EURUSD and bitcoin alike. Min/max/step lot and free margin are respected.
- Fixed lot (0.01), Fixed lot for metals / forex / crypto (0 = use Fixed lot).
- Risk % (1), Risk money (10), Max total lot per signal (1.0 – lower it for crypto tests).
- Risk mode: skip if min lot risks > 1.5x target (true).
Per market (metals and forex in pips, crypto in %)
| Setting | Metals | Forex | Crypto |
|---|---|---|---|
| Price within this of entry = at entry | 3 pips | 2 pips | 0.10 % |
| Skip if price moved more than (0 = off) | 50 pips | 15 pips | 0.80 % |
| SL if signal has none (0 = no SL) | 0 | 0 | 0 |
| Max slippage | 5 pips | 2 pips | 0.10 % |
| Skip if spread above (0 = off) | 6 pips | 4 pips | 0.20 % |
TP / SL, Entry, Safety (magic number, max open trades, daily loss %, trading hours, max signal age) and Other inputs are the same as in v1.00. The breakeven offset is in points of each symbol.
Upgrading from v1.00
- Replace GoldSignalCopier.ex5 in MQL5/Experts, then remove the robot from the chart and attach it again.
- Enter your settings again – the v1.00 inputs "Pip size", "Entry tolerance", "Max distance", "Default SL", "Slippage" and "Max spread" were replaced by the per-market inputs above.
- The magic number is the same, so open trades are still managed and the robot continues from the last signal (no old signals are copied again).
- v1.00 keeps working but only receives gold signals. You need v1.10 for silver, forex and crypto.
Good to know
- The robot only trades new signals. Old signals are not copied when you start it for the first time.
- If MT5 is closed for a while, the robot continues from where it stopped. Signals older than 90 seconds are skipped.
- Close / partial close / breakeven / SL-TP changes from the channel are done automatically, only on the trades the robot opened. "Close BTC" closes only bitcoin trades.
- The robot does not touch your manual trades or other robots' trades (it uses its own magic number).
-
Symbols are found automatically: exact name, then names with a broker suffix/prefix (XAUUSDm, EURUSD.r, BTCUSD_i,
#BTCUSD) and BTCUSDT instead of BTCUSD. Symbols that are missing in Market Watch are added. If the panel shows
"skipped: no symbol" for a signal, add an entry to Symbol map, for example
XAUUSD=GOLD. -
Exness: Standard/Cent accounts use names with
m/c(XAUUSDm, BTCUSDm); Pro, Raw Spread and Zero accounts use plain names. - Safety checks skip a signal when its prices are far away from your broker's price (wrong symbol or typo), when the market is closed, or when the spread is too high. The reason is shown on the panel as "Last signal".
- The robot cannot run in the Strategy Tester (it needs the internet connection to our server).
Problems?
| On the chart you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| URL NOT ALLOWED (error 4014) | Do Step 2 again. The address must be exactly http://46.101.230.128. Then remove and attach the robot again. |
| INVALID API KEY | Copy the key again from Telegram. Make sure there are no spaces. |
| PAUSED - Algo Trading button is OFF | Click the Algo Trading button so it is green. |
| PAUSED - 'Allow Algo Trading' is not ticked | Press F7 on the chart, Common tab, tick Allow Algo Trading. |
| NO CONNECTION | Check the internet connection of the PC / VPS. |
| NEW TRADES STOPPED (daily loss limit) | The daily loss limit was reached. New trades start again the next day. |
| Last signal: ... skipped: no symbol | Your broker has no such symbol, or a different name: add it to Symbol map. |
| Last signal: ... skipped: spread / market closed | Normal (weekend, news). Gold and forex do not trade at the weekend. |
| Last signal: ... skipped: volume | The SL is too wide for your balance and risk % (min lot would risk too much), or max lot / margin is too small. Check the Experts log. |
| Last signal: ... skipped: prices vs broker | The signal prices are far from your broker's price (wrong symbol or typo). Nothing was traded. |
| Last signal: ... skipped: crypto off / symbol filter | The market is turned off in your inputs. |
